Relocating to Scotland
Not everyone who decides to move home will stay in the same area. Sometimes they need to move to another town, county or even country; all for a variety of reasons. This could be relocating due to family arrangements, or perhaps because of work commitments.
Not only this, but sometimes you can plan in a move, get all the arrangements in place and think that you have the ideal plan in mind. Only to find that everything ends up going wrong for you and your move.
Back in November 2021 this exact situation happened to a client of ours here at 1st Choice Removals.
November 2021 – Moving to Bournemouth
During November 2021 we were contacted by the client and asked for our help with their move. Whilst they didn’t yet have a property to move into, they were looking to relocate from Rossendale Lancashire, down to the Bournemouth area, where our storage depot is located.
They asked us to move their belongings, a full pack and move and take everything to the storage depot whilst they looked for a property in the local area.
Temporary Storage for home belongings becomes long term storage
It took 3 full days to pack up and move all the sites, however, they were safely relocated to Bournemouth in storage, ready for the client to move into their new home and claim back the items.
Unfortunately, the hunt for a property took the clients much longer than they anticipated and had planned for. The items stayed in our storage facility for almost a year.

2022 – Change of plan – moving to Scotland
Skip forward to 2022 and the client had a change of heart. Rather than moving to Bournemouth as was their original plan, they decided to find a property a little further North and made the move to Bieth in Ayrshire about 25 miles west of Glasgow.
This was a slight change of plan from the original discussion that we had, however, it was a challenge that we were more than willing to accept.
It took 4 days to complete this final stage of their move, this including loading all of the belongings that were in storage in Bournemouth and then driving them up to the new property in Scotland.
Of course, this also factored in time to drive back down to Bournemouth to refill and then make our way back up to Scotland for another load.
